The Reptilarium on FacebookWhite's tree frog (Litoria caerulea), also known as the Australian green tree frog, is a popular and easily recognizable species of tree frog native to northern and eastern Australia, as well as parts of New Guinea and Indonesia. These frogs are well-known for their distinctive appearance, docile nature, and adaptability to a variety of habitats.
Adult White's tree frogs are relatively large compared to many other tree frog species. They can grow to be 3 to 4 inches (7.5 to 10 centimeters) in length. They are arboreal, which means they spend most of their lives in trees and shrubs, but they can also be found near water sources. These frogs are nocturnal, becoming active at night to feed and hunt for insects, small invertebrates, and other prey.
In captivity, White's tree frogs can live for over 15 years with proper care.
