Pterinochilus murinus, commonly known as the Orange Baboon Tarantula (OBT) or "Orange Bitey Thing," is a striking and popular tarantula species native to Africa. Known for their vibrant orange coloration and feisty temperament, they are best suited for experienced tarantula keepers due to their defensive nature and potent venom. Adult OBTs typically reach a leg span of 4 to 6 inches. Females can live up to 12-15 years, while males typically live around 3-4 years.
