Extatosoma tiaratum is a large, striking stick insect native to Australia and parts of New Guinea. Females grow up to 15-20 cm in length and can live for up to 2 years. They are bulkier and have a more robust, thorny appearance. Males are smaller, reaching about 10-13 cm, with long wings that allow them to fly, they typically live for 6-8 months. These insects are known for their incredible camouflage, mimicking leaves or branches.
