The Leopard Tortoise (Stigmochelys pardalis) is a large, slow-growing tortoise species native to the savannas and grasslands of eastern and southern Africa. Known for their beautiful, spotted shells, they are the fourth-largest tortoise species in the world. Leopard tortoises are herbivores and thrive in warm, dry environments. They are best suited for keepers with ample space and a long-term commitment, as they can live for several decades. Adults can grow to 30–50 cm, females typically grow larger than males. Leopard Tortoises can live 50-100 years or more with proper care.
